Acoustic Louvre | Contour® Acoustic

Contour® Acoustic is used where acoustic attenuation and ventilation are required, including plant equipment areas, data centres and other noise-sensitive environments.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW

Contour® Acoustic louvres are noise-reduction louvre systems designed to allow airflow while reducing noise transmission.

• Designed for environments where ventilation must be maintained without compromising acoustic performance.

• Suitable for managing noise from plant equipment in noise-sensitive environments.

• Available in linear, continuous and curved blade design options.

• Available as single panels, large assemblies or integrated doors.

• Single and double-bank configurations are available across the range.

• Developed to balance acoustic performance, ventilation performance and external appearance.

• Architects can specify curved blades as an alternative option to balance aesthetics and performance.

TESTING:

• Contour® Acoustic louvres are fully tested for acoustic and ventilation performance

• Sound Reduction Index (SRI) values have been obtained from testing at Salford University to BS EN ISO 10140-2:2010

BLADE CONSTRUCTION:

• Acoustic louvre blades are available in linear, continuous and curved configurations.

• Material options: aluminium or pre-galvanised steel.

• Finish: polyester powder-coated to 60 µm.

• Available in RAL and BS standard colours.

• Blade pitch and blade size vary depending on selected system type.

• Single-bank and double-bank options available depending on configuration.

• Linear blade options use a classic trapezoidal design with a linear blade finish.

• Continuous blade options provide a continuous line design with mitred corners, achieving the appearance of a weather louvre.

• Curved blade options provide an alternative curved blade appearance while offering acoustic and airflow performance.

Curved blade options:

• Available in single-bank and double-bank configurations.

• Blade pitch options: 305 and 355 mm.

• Blade size: 180 mm.

• Nominal free area ranges: 23% or 32%, depending on configuration.

• Weight ranges : 28–60 kg/m², depending on configuration.

• R_W values range from 11–23 dB, depending on configuration.

Continuous blade options

• Continuous line design with mitred corners.

• Designed to achieve the appearance of a weather louvre.

• Blade pitch options: 160mm, 200mm and 305mm.

• Blade size options: 100mm and 205mm.

• Visual free area: 32%, 38% or 50%, depending on configuration.

• Nominal free range: 23%, 26% or 34%, depending on configuration.

• Weight ranges shown: 41–82 kg/m², depending on configuration.

• R_W values range from 13–25 dB, depending on configuration.

Linear blade options:

• Classic trapezoidal design with a linear blade finish.

• Blade pitch options: 160mm, 200mm and 305mm.

• Blade size options: 100mm and 205mm.

• Visual free area range: 32%, 38% or 50%, depending on configuration.

• Nominal free area range: 23%, 26% or 34%, depending on configuration.

• Weight ranges: 21–47 kg/m², depending on configuration.

• R_W values range from 8–20 dB, depending on configuration.

Final support and fixing requirements to be confirmed for the selected acoustic louvre type, panel size, substrate and project requirements.

INSTALLATION AND ACCESSORIES:

• Systems can be supplied as single panels, large assemblies and integrated doors.

• Optional accessories include single and double louvred doors.

• Optional accessories include insect mesh and vermin mesh.

• Access for maintenance should be considered when acoustic louvres are integrated into the building envelope, as stated in the specification guidance.
