We are proud to be approaching the completion of a major project for Dagard: the construction of a new freeze-dried vaccine production facility at the GSK Wavre site in Belgium.This ambitious project required:The commitment and dedication of all our teamsClose collaboration across every departmentFor this project, Dagard supplied a comprehensive range of solutions. In the classified areas, our SD modular partitions and ST60 ceilings were installed. In the non-classified areas, modular 600 × 600 cassette ceilings and ST60 wall linings were used, complemented by our PIBA cleanroom doors, PAP panels, glazing systems, and cold room sliding doors. A true showcase of Dagard's expertise, supporting one of the most demanding pharmaceutical projects in Belgium.As is often the case with projects of this scale, the schedule evolved along the way. A reallocation of priorities between the building's two main production areas led our teams to focus on completing one area first, after already manufacturing and installing a significant portion of the equipment originally planned for the other. This once again demonstrated the agility and adaptability of our teams, both on site and in our manufacturing facilities.We would like to thank our client for renewing its confidence in Dagard. Following a successful first collaboration where Dagard acted as a supplier on a previous project, GSK Wavre entrusted us this time with the installation package as well.After more than two years of dedication and hard work, the project is entering its final phase. With only a few weeks of work remaining, it is already establishing itself as a key reference for Dagard.Learn More About the GSK Wavre ProjectIn October 2023, GSK launched the construction of a new vaccine freeze-drying facility in Wavre, representing an investment of more than €250 million.The complete building and its commissioning by GSK are scheduled for the first half of 2027. Dagard's scope specifically covers the interior fit-out works, including partitions, ceilings, doors, and cold rooms, with delivery now approaching.The project's objective is to modernize the production of freeze-dried vaccines and facilitate their global distribution. Freeze-drying, which involves removing water from vaccines through a freezing process, improves product stability, extends shelf life, and simplifies transportation, particularly in regions where maintaining the cold chain can be challenging.The project includes the renovation of an existing 9,000 m² building and the construction of a 7,200 m² extension to meet the growing demand for freeze-dried vaccines.
