Weber HQ Refurbishment

A major refurbishment project at a headquarters facility in Bedfordshire involved the renovation of approximately 240m² of industrial and commercial floor space, including warehouse and office areas. The works required high-performance flooring solutions capable of delivering durability, flatness and rapid installation to minimise disruption to ongoing operations.

Substrates were prepared and pre-treated using weberfloor 4716 primer, which was applied to regulate porosity, improve adhesion and reduce the risk of pinholing in subsequent layers. This ensured consistent performance across varying substrate conditions and supported the successful installation of the floor systems.

In warehouse areas, a pump-applied industrial screed, weberfloor 4610 industry top, was installed at a thickness of approximately 10mm. The screed was selected for its rapid hardening, self-smoothing properties and ability to achieve high levels of flatness suitable for areas subject to medium to heavy rolling loads. Its fast-curing characteristics enabled foot traffic within a short timeframe, supporting programme efficiency.

In areas requiring a floating floor construction, a slip membrane was introduced to de-bond the new floor from the existing substrate. This build-up was reinforced using weberfloor 4945 glass fibre mesh, providing additional strength and stability where substrates were weaker or unbonded construction was required.

A fibre-reinforced levelling screed, weberfloor 4310 fibre flow, was then pump-applied at thicknesses up to 25mm to create a smooth, level surface across both commercial and office areas. The material was selected for its excellent flow characteristics, durability and compatibility with a range of substrates, including floating constructions and areas subject to thermal movement.

The completed installation delivers durable, high-quality floor surfaces capable of supporting both industrial and commercial use. The combination of rapid-curing systems and pump-applied technology ensured minimal downtime and allowed the refurbished areas to be brought back into operation quickly.
