Design

• Perforated panels and expanded mesh create a striking visual statement while allowing natural light and ventilation
• Panels designed to create a ‘wave’ effect and ever-changing pattern of light and shadow
• Marks Maple’s 30th car park project in less than 10 years

Manufacture

• 745 panels manufactured with a precise 70mm return on one side to achieve the desired visual effect across all four elevations
• Aluminium panels anodised to the architect’s colour specification for long-lasting protection
• Close collaboration between Maple, Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, Q-Park, Prime and VINCI Construction UK

Installation

• Specialist brackets used to fix panels and achieve the exact ‘free space area’ required by the architect
• Installation team overcame challenges of working in a live hospital environment, including noise constraints, busy roads and restricted access
