3,500m2 of mastic asphalt was laid by BriggsAmasco’s City and Guild-trained installers onto the car park’s concrete decks. Up to 54-tonnes of asphalt was being utilised per day on machine-laid areas of roof, which required expert project management to ensure a steady supply of material was maintained. During one particularly complex operation, contractors were required to close sections of the car park in order to crane ready-to-apply tanks of mastic asphalt onto the roof. This required coordinated planning with the client and local authorities to minimise the public health and safety risk.
