Efficient running of the trust depends heavily on the hospital having adequate facilities. As the Trust identified, crucial to maintaining a high level of efficiency is for staff to be provided with quicker, easier, safer and less stressful parking arrangements, given the reactive nature of their job. In September 2016, the board announced plans to improve all car parking across its site for both staff and the public. The plan included the construction of a number of purpose built car parks, including a new 200 space car park at Cadewell Lane, spanning 2000ft² that would operate 24 hours a day.
