Westleigh's most recent development, on the site of the former Northampton Machinery company, comprises eight houses and 138 apartments in six separate blocks.
Westleigh has benefited, not just from the improved sound resistance in the new buildings, but also from a considerable overall cost saving. By replacing the original batten system with 6500m² Hodgson & Hodgson's REDUC SoundFloor, the thickness of the floors was reduced and labour costs minimised. Also, as insulation was no longer needed between battens and the original floor, the cost of materials came down.
