JS Air Curtains at Reynolds Furniture

OVERVIEW

As part of a major refurbishment at its retail store in Bognor Regis, Reynolds Furniture selected JS Air Curtains’ Finesse and Optima air curtains to maintain the internal atmosphere while complementing its modern interior design. Discretely blending in with their surroundings, the air curtains are ensuring customer and staff comfort throughout the summer and winter.

A family-run business since 1867, Reynolds is the largest furniture store in Sussex and prides itself on excellent customer service. Needing to bring its 25,000sq ft of retail space up-to-date and enhance its customers’ buying experience, it commissioned air conditioning specialist, South Coast Refrigeration Services, to install a new cooling and heating system. As part of this installation, air curtains on the ground floor were an essential ingredient to maintain the ambient temperature; keeping the cool conditioned air in during the summer and the cold air out during the winter.

Brian Ritchie from South Coast Refrigeration project managed the installation: “Having previously enjoyed a problem-free relationship with JS Air Curtains, we turned again to this local supplier. We knew we could rely on the performance of the air curtains and that this kit would be easy to install unobtrusively at both entrance points.”

A 1m Finesse concealed air curtain was installed flush with the ceiling over the back door, whilst a 2m Mini Optima was suspended above the automatic sliding doors at the main customer entrance.

Matthew Reynolds, finance director at Reynolds, commented: “The renovation of our furniture store was designed to create a modern environment where our customers would feel comfortable and at ease making their buying decisions. It was important that the air curtains looked great, to match the aesthetics of our décor, as well as maintaining the ambient temperature. We have been very pleased with the result and the air curtains have performed well so far, keeping our customers cool over the hot summer. We are confident they will continue to do their job through the colder months to come.”

The Finesse concealed air curtain for suspended ceilings is suitable for ceiling voids of just 350mm. It is simple to install and has easy access for maintenance. It is available in 0.5m lengths from 1m to 2m with non-heated, electric or hot water heated models and has a comprehensive range of control options.

The Mini Optima air curtain is an economic solution also available in lengths up to 2m. It is available in single or three phase power options with maximum airflows of 1,350m³/hr making it ideal for protecting doorways up to 2.2m high.
