Ermetika Projects | Noard 99

The Noard 99 project in Holland is a very interesting case study of how space can be redesigned to make it as congenial as possible to people's daily lives. The renovation of this flat was planned with the aim to transform two flats into one by redesigning the interior layout and make it suitable for wheelchair use.

The interior design is attributed to Marcel Hectors, the owner of the house, that confronted with new health challenges decided to design his own house to meet his personal needs.

The aim was to include a space dedicated to the photography and museum installation studio he runs, creating the perfect balance between his personal and professional life. This mission was accomplished thanks to the use of sliding doors, which allowed the perfect balance between the two worlds, personal and professional, optimising the space and making it flexible and spacious.

"The house is like our "second skin", the place where we spend most of our time, so it has to adapt to the needs of each family. That's why rebuilding this house was so important to us." - M. Hectors.

In fact, the large size of the doors installed in this house make the rooms more versatile. The partitions can be closed when you need privacy and opened fully when you want to enjoy the benefits of open space.

To carry out this project, 9 Absolute Evo pocket door systems were mounted with a motorised opening sensor that consents the doors to open automatically from a distance.

The choice of Ermetika products is motivated by the ease with which they can be customised in terms of both size and finish, and by the variety of accessories available to increase products performance and to facilitate access to the different spaces.
