Bekaert Brickforce® - Swimming Pool and Leisure Complex, Wakefield
OVERVIEW
Bekaert worked together with the engineer NPS North East Ltd and main contractor Willmott Dixon to optimize the design by removing wind posts. Wind posts can be both expensive and difficult to fix and these were replaced using Bekaert Brickforce®, which is easily constructed into the mortar joints as work progresses – fast and simple. Significant time and material cost savings were achieved by removing circa 145 wind posts. Approximately 5500m of Brickforce® was supplied, giving an estimated material saving of at least 4 tonnes of stainless steel and a cost saving of approx £20,000.
