University of East Anglia (UEA), located just outside Norwich city centre, has more than 14,000 students studying on campus, and over 2,000 employees. Seven disparate systems, 42,000 existing cards in circulation and new buildings requiring new systems called for a plan to centralize access and amalgamate data sources for some serious long-term efficiencies. The chosen access control system needed the ability to support multiple technologies and extensive integration, with an infrastructure that would allow development over time.
