Mothercare Choose JS Air Curtains

OVERVIEW

JS Air Curtains has supplied over 50 air curtains to leading high street retailer, Mothercare, to help maintain a comfortable internal atmosphere for customers and staff as well as improve energy efficiency across many of its UK stores.

The air curtains have been installed by M&E contractors, Adcrest Ltd. JS Air Curtains worked with Adcrest and Mothercare to select the correct air curtain solution for each store.

Alan Rouse, Building Services Manager at Mothercare, commented, “We are installing air curtains across the Mothercare chain to further improve the energy efficiency of our stores. As well as keeping warm air in during the winter, running the air curtains during the summer without the heaters will prevent air conditioned air from escaping, thus reducing our heating and cooling energy consumption.”

A variety of air curtains were used but most installations incorporated the stylish Comtesse for protecting the shop fronts, the Standesse for protecting the staff entrances and Finesse for use in stores with suspended ceilings systems.

The stylish Comtesse also has a versatile mounting feature that allows it to be suspended from very high ceilings, if required, with all suspension studding enclosed in an attractive casing.

The Standesse air curtain, used on many rear doorways across the retail chain, has a powerful output of up to 4,290m3/hr protecting entrances of up to 4m high from incoming cold air. The air curtain offers up to 18kW of heat, can be mounted either vertically at the side of a door or horizontally above a door, and is available in lengths of 1, 1.5 and 2m.
