OVERVIEW

Alphacrete fair-faced Acoustic Blocks® (sound absorbing) were selected by main contractor, Lendlease, for use within the Sports Halls of four of the Birmingham BSF schemes to control sound reverberation time and meet BB93 Part 1 requirements. A highly cost effective solution, Alphacrete Acoustic is the only independently tested masonry block available that meets the newly published acoustic performance standards for the Department of Education’s Priority School Building Programme (PSBP), the revised Part 1 of BB93. Certified Class D sound absorber independently tested to BS EN ISO354:2003 ‘The Laboratory Measurement of Random Incidence Sound Absorption’.
