Fabsorb - Sidewall Isolation for Foundations

It absorbs machine-induced energy, limits the transmission of higher frequency disturbances and provides isolation from ambient and induced shock and vibration, which otherwise would affect the accuracy of the machine being installed.In comparison to felt-like material which tends to stiffen over time, and therefore loses its original isolation characteristics, Fabsorb is not susceptible to deterioration through water absorption and wicking. It is a unique, medium-density, closed-cell foam material specifically designed for vibration isolation applications of support foundations for machine tools, shock testing equipment, grinders and similar equipment.

Fabsorb is regularly used as side wall isolation together with our FAB-EPM or FAB-EFP foundation isolation material covering the base of the foundation or inertia mass.

FAQS

Do you recommend an adhesive to secure Fabsorb to the pit walls? Fabsorb can be secured to pit walls by construction adhesive or 3″ duct tape. Do you recommend placing a plastic sheet over the Fabsorb prior to pouring the concrete? Yes, polyethylene sheeting should be placed over the Fabsorb, and all seams should be taped to prevent concrete seepage into the material. What do you recommend for a sealant at the top of the pit around the mass?
