A boutique farm, garden kitchen, cooking school, reception venue and a home consolidated within a single 110 l/m metre shed, clad almost entirely in Wonderglas GC. Set minutes from the idyllic town of
Daylesford in central Victoria, the elevated
property looks out over vast plains and
bush land across Daylesford, Hepburn Springs
and Mt Franklin. Revitalising the pastoral
shed of yesteryear, the industrial structure
sits on minimal footings with a gravel floor.
The Longhouse is built to passive house
standards with very few heating and cooling
inputs and provision for solar paneling and
battery storage.
FS FireCheck - fire proof fibreglass roofing and cladding

The FS FireCheck comprises an intumescent impregnated glass tissue which is manufactured
within the Ampelite sheeting. The chemicals are halogen free meaning they are non toxic. The simplicity of the approach to using the tissue and locating it at the surface of the sheet results in no loss of strength or stiffness within the composite section.On exposure to flame or radiant heat the FS FireCheck will form a carbon char. This char will not support a flame or burning and will insulate against any heat source. Therefore flame spread and smoke development become non-existent. This 3660 gsm sheeting has heavy gauge woven web matting which provides continuous reinforcement in every direction. The overall strength is such, that wire
safety mesh is not required. This is a particularly important benefit in aggressive and corrosive environments that can quickly destroy metal. Where corrosion resistance is vital, complete buildings may be clad and roofed with WebglasGC which can be manufactured 100% coloured opaque, or translucent to transmit natural light. For extreme environments, where high levels of acids or alkalies may occur, Webglas GC+ which incorporates chemically resistant resins, will provide additional protection. Webglas GC is totally corrosion resistant, it cannot rust and is impervious to water, vapours and gases.

Ampelite, Australias most experienced and largest manufacturer of fibreglass roofing introduced Wonderglas GC gel coated sheeting to Australia in 1994, adapting the process originally developed by BP chemicals in the United States, to expressly combat Australias very harsh environment.The highly UV resistant resins used in the manufacture of Wonderglas GC provide the ultimate in protection ahead of even the latest surface film technology.
The 100 micron thick gel coat is integral with the sheet, (chemically cross bonded), and no delamination is possible. The gel coated sheet surface becomes an almost impenetrable
barrier that reduces surface erosion and loss of light transmission to negligible proportions.

The Lexan Thermoclick is a uniquely engineered thermoplastic product combining exceptional levels of mechanical, optical and thermal properties. Lexan Thermoclick sheet LTC404X4000, is an impact resistant, energy saving multi-wall sheet with a
profiled tongue and groove connection. This inter-connecting system eliminates the need for vertical profiles, thereby saving
costs and enhancing aesthetics. The sheeting is 40mm thick, having an effective cover of 500mm and maximum length of 11.8m. Both clear and opal colours are stocked locally and all accessories are produced in Australia. The sheeting has a one side UV protection requiring this side to always remain facing outward.

Case Study - Little Creatures Brewery

This project involved the construction of
a new brewery located within the former
Valley Mills site in Geelong. Building works included a full upgrade of the sawtooth wall lights (skylights) with Wonderglas GC as well as installation of $45 million of brewing equipment. The choice of Wonderglas GC offered
both 99.9% U.V reduction, paramount
to maintaining beer freshness, combined
with an exceptional light transmission
guarantee. The fit-out included structural modifications, services upgrades and construction of new plant spaces. Works were completed over a twelve month duration with an extremely high level of services coordination and design using BIM.
