Designed by Tempus Design Studio, this project was the winner of the BDAQ Regional Design Awards 2019 – New Houses $750,001 – $1,000,000 Construction Cost. Breezway Louvre Windows are incorporated into the bedrooms, kitchen and alfresco area to offer a number of benefits to the homeowners including fresh air and wide open views out onto the natural surroundings. When closed, they offer protection from the elements so outdoor time can be enjoyed without the worry of the weather changing.

As part of the ‘green’ refurbishment of the Accor Vacation Club Apartments, GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens supplied highly-efficient fittings and fixtures to complement the greater environmental awareness of the new design. Improved water conservation was achieved by installing the latest in efficient flush systems and reduced flow tapware in all the bathrooms and kitchens.

GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens was appointed to provide a full schedule of fixtures and fittings for this new residential development located in the landmark Rhodes Waterside precinct. Proving to be leaders in water efficiency technologies, GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens supplied a range of dual flush toilets, water efficient taps and showerheads, as well as bathtubs and basins.

Combining the ventilation qualities of wide glass louvre windows with the protection of Invisi-Gard security screens ensures this Darwin home stays cool and secure.

Key considerations in the design of the club-house included flexibility of use, thermal and acoustic performance, ventilation and ongoing maintenance. The use of large sliding and stacking Alspec® ProGlide® Commercial Sliding Doors combined with Viridian SmartGlass provided the perfect mix of performance and function for this application.

GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens supplied a stylish collection of products to this project, boasting state of the art technologies and features that maximise efficiency by limiting unnecessary water wastage. Consequently, this collection has contributed significantly to the building’s superior green credentials.

This innovative, multi-level residential building in central Adelaide is fitted with water and energy efficient fixtures and fittings by GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens, in partnership with DFC/Housing. Located at 102 Waymouth Street, the building consists of 146 apartments for Housing SA and 30 youth service apartments.

Designed by Richard Lutze. This project won the 2017 Building Designers Association of Australia Design Award for Public Buildings/Structures. The building has been designed with modern conveniences while also ensuring a sustainable passive layout, with large openable areas facing north overlooking rural vistas, providing good natural light and ventilation to the classrooms and laboratory through the use of Breezway Louvre Windows.

Located in the heart of iconic beachside suburb Bondi, the recently completed Amari Residences has maximised views, natural ventilation and safety by utilising a combination of Alspec’s KidScreen® window products, Air-Flo® frames and Breezway® Louvres. The development’s incorporation of these window solutions ensures best advantage can be taken of the location’s northerly aspects and ocean views for each of the 32 apartments across the building’s 9 levels.

GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens supplied a full schedule of fittings for the Alluvion Tower project. Situated in the heart of Perth’s CBD, Alluvion sets the benchmark for office design and sustainability. GWA’s tapware, bathroom basins, urinals and toilet suites were selected both for the quality of their aesthetics and their distinctive, in-built technologies that limit unnecessary water wastage and associated costs.

GWA Bathroom & Kitchens worked collaboratively with Architectus and Grocon to supply a full schedule of fittings, including reduced flow tapware and water saving toilet suites. This installation, together with the building’s innovative recycling technology, is saving approximately 100,000 litres of water per day, helping 1 Bligh meet its 6 Green Star rating - the highest Green Star rating for a commercial development across NSW.

GWA provided a complete solution for Central Equity’s landmark 43-level MainPoint Apartment complex in Melbourne. Ian Carkeek, General Manager - Product and Development at Central Equity said, “The GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens range suited our design concept while at the same time achieving key practical and environmentally sustainable requirements. This, in addition to our long standing, first-hand experience using their products meant it was an easy choice for us.”

Leading the way for architectural and educational public school design in New Zealand, Hobsonville Point Schools are located on the former Hobsonville Air Base, around 25 kilometres from Auckland. GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens partnered with the New Zealand Ministry of Education and Learning Infrastructure Partners to ensure this innovative education precinct met its key design and sustainability objectives by supplying a range of market-leading, water-efficient bathroom fixtures and fittings.

Steve Domoney Architecture took on the challenge of designing a home for clients with children. This project came with a clear vision of a spacious family home, contemporary in line and warm in tone. The dining room has Capral AGS windows opening at exterior ground level to a fernery, while high-level Capral AGS 419 Flushline Framing System beyond the kitchen provides views to distant trees in the south-east. The formal lounge opens to a generous decking and garden behind.

Designed with sustainability and a targeted 5-star green star rating in mind, the building has drawn on Alspec products which feature high performance credentials for the floor-to-ceiling glazing and sliding doors. On the façades, Hunter Evo 150mm Double Glazed Flush Framing was used to construct the interfaces between guests and the habitat. The Hunter framing can accommodate up to 40mm double glazed and is well suited to gently curved and faceted façades, such as featured in the dining and kitchen extension.

The word Folia in Greek means nest, and this is precisely what Folia apartments by Mirvac have delivered. Foliage adorns the many balconies, rooftop conservatory and kitchen garden, contributing greatly to the tranquil ambience which feels wholeheartedly organic. The residences are an inviting place to call home for their new occupants. Able to be seen from below are the prominent soffits on floors 5 and 6, lined with our aluminium Click-on Cladding in a strikingly realistic Blackbutt wood finish. The wood finish on the cladding appears abundantly realistic, cleverly achieving the look of real timber in both tone and texture. Our wood finish wrapping is produced in Japan using a state of the art system to ensure that there is no repetitive wood grain pattern present, helping it to achieve the aesthetic variation of real timber. It also features an embossed texture further replicating that of real timber along with the shadow lines which imitate traditional timber cladding.

When designing a new building, the main vision is for the building to appear aesthetically pleasing and be functional to serve its purpose. CS supplied the Smartclick louvre blades in black to compliment well with the whole building. The purpose of the CS Smartlclick louvre is to act as a screening or vision barrier, while it is also used to provide a secure and screened environment and allowing essential airflow to the equipment. Monash University’s Clayton campus was recently awarded three major architecture awards by the Australian Institute of Architects for the second year running.The precinct consists of four new residential buildings with associated retail and informal learning spaces, with each of the buildings having its own individual architectural style.The project includes designs from four different architects including Hayball, Jackson Clements Burrows Architects (JCB), Richard Middleton Architects and McBride Charles Ryan, with master planning from MGS Architects and partners.Central to the design are the powder coated aluminium elements featured across each of the buildings, ranging from sharp blacks and silvers on one building through to bright and exuberant colours on another, driving home the individuality of each designer.Among the award winning designs, the Logan Hall residency, designed by McBride Charles Ryan was recognised by the judges for its excellence in architectural skill and merit of design. Interpon Black Ink was used for the shading devices and window frames, with Interpon Eternal Silver Satin specified for the weather panels above the ground floor retail.“As we were conscious of long term maintenance as well as creating an ongoing pleasing presence, the products used on the project were chosen for their intrinsic beauty and longevity,” says Debbie Ryan of McBride Charles Ryan.“The pattern is intentionally complex. We have used honest and time proven Interpon products which have all come together in a really joyful way through composition.”Having previously worked on the colourful The Icon apartment complex in St Kilda designed by JCB, Interpon’s Specification Expert Gareth Connell understands the importance of tailored palette when vibrancy and colour are central to a project.“We knew the design brief called for a exuberant range of colours for a wide range of building elements and performance of this aesthetic. We knew we’d have a proven high performance finishing solution that would maintain the performance requirements for such a high profile project, which is why Interpon D2525 Super Durable polyester powder coat was specified.”In contrast to the more ‘simple’ colour scheme used for Logan Hall, the Turner Hall building, designed by JCB, is defined by its bright colours, using a rainbow of ten different colours from the Interpon colour palette to create a vibrant and refreshing appearance that has revitalised the University as a whole, traditionally known for its dull brown buildings.A coloured ‘hood’ at the window of each sole occupant studio glows at night, enhancing the colour spectrum. Custom colours from the Interpon Ultriva™ collection were used for aluminium elements including extrusions, sheets, flashings, cladding, trims and fins.The complexities of the ambitious project required careful consideration and planning between the architects and powder coating supplier. The vibrant design brief lent itself to Interpon’s unique small batching facilities in Sunshine, Melbourne, that cater for such striking colour schemes in a cost effective and timely manner.Throughout the project, specialists from Interpon Powder Coatings worked closely with the multiple architectural teams involved in the project to ensure the perfect colour palette was developed for the best results both in individual building design and the project as a whole.In specifying the Interpon D2525 series, the designers were ensured significantly higher gloss retention and resistance to colour change along with maximum film integrity guaranteeing long term cosmetic and functional protection. Interpon D2525 offers 25 year film integrity and gloss retention with 15 year colour retention and chalking resistance.The Interpon D2525 range exceeds American Architectural Manufacturers Association Standards for High Performance Organic Coatings on Aluminium Extrusions and Panels as well as exceeding the performance criteria of AS 3715 Metal finishing – Thermoset powder coating for architectural applications of aluminium

SAS International bespoke metalwork comprising of a striking waveform shaped ceiling was designed by architects Arup Associates to feature in the construction of Ropemaker Place, London EC2 for British Land. Simon Anson, architect at Arup Associates comments; “The purpose of the ceiling was to provide the 10.5m tall entrance foyer with an acoustic performance, and create a lighting source providing both uplight and downlight. The illuminated ceiling provides the entrance foyer with visual impact from views of City Point Plaza, Ropemaker Street and The City.” Simon Anson continues, “The appearance of the ceiling is that of a series of illuminated vaulted waves flowing into the interior, the volume of the space perceptually expanded by the uplit waveform surfaces. The vaulted ceiling with its flowing contours provides a visually stunning focal point as well as a practical solution to the acoustic requirements of the interior of the building.” Specialist bespoke wave ceilings were installed in the atrium, main reception area, lift lobbies and main external canopy. The waveform panel, although elegant in appearance, had to have the required strength to support the light fitting. The extra weight posed a significant design challenge of how to integrate and support the light fitting into the waveform panel. The complex design required all fixings to be concealed, as a large proportion of the face and rear of the waveform tiles are visible. In the design development and installation of the system, Arup Associates worked closely with SAS International and the specified lighting manufacturer, Zumtobel, to ensure the panels integrated seamlessly with the luminaires to produce the optimum installation.
