Chemical termite controls were not an option because of toxicity issues, making a clean and environmentally safe physical termite barrier the correct solution.APPROACHA typical WA site, the college’s location is predominantly flat, with sandy soils and substrates. In general, this type of environment poses a high risk for termite attack common to this region of Western Australia. SOLUTIONThe main challenge with the installation came from the rammed earth exterior walls. Their natural composition can chip easily, so nailing or sealing the termite barrier onto the wall was not practical.Our solution was to install Termimesh cold joint /paver trays to the perimeter of the concrete slab edge. These protected the concealed entry point between the slab and wall. They also engaged into the external pavement instead of against the rammed earth wall itself.BENEFITSThe Termimesh System which comprises of our 725 grade stainless steel mesh, Termiparge bonding cement and high grade stainless steel clamps not only met their strict requirement of no chemicals it will also continue to provide them with reassurance and peace of mind the comes with our market leading Pledge Guarantee. The Pledge Guarantee provides the client with a 10 year guarantee that requires no annual inspections during that initial period. The client then has the option to extend this on an ongoing basis by having an approved annual inspection.

Rondo was able to provide a solution to suit the projects’ specific design criteria by using readily available materials and technical support. The wall framing for the MPS room consisted of over 31m of 150mm Steel Stud and Track, including noggings.

Built by FKG Group, Queensland Cotton's Dalby Project involved the construction of two large steel framed sheds with a total floor area of almost 20,000m2. Metroll is proud to have been involved in the supply of materials to this significant expansion of storage facilities.

IOI City Mall is the biggest shopping mall in Malaysia at 1.35 million square feet, incorporating Rondo Drywall Framing for the internal wall partitions. This mall comes together with 2 tower office blocks and one hotel which will be completed in stages.

Timber features were used throughout the project, with Decortech acoustic panels used to clad both internal and external ceilings. Rondo, in collaboration with BVT Engineering was engaged to provide design assistance for all external soffits/ceilings, internal walls and ceiling framing.

Rondo’s Technical Team supplied emblematic CAD floor plans and designs for wall types including acoustic and fire rating to board to the manufacturer’s specifications. Onsite support from Rondo included assistance in setting out, framing, lining and finishing training as well material supply coordination.

It’s hard to imagine a timber better suited to a palette of concrete and pale pink terrazzo than GoodWood Victorian ash. This winning combination is found throughout the space, drawing on clean lines and simplistic furniture to complete the brief. “The main reason we used Victorian ash is because it is a light coloured Australian timber that met the BAL-19 bushfire attack level requirement for the site. Its softness and warmth works beautifully with the project palette” - Atelier Chen Hung.

Designed by Benson McCormack Architects and built by Hone Constructions. The curved glass elements seen at the ground level entry shopfronts and in the feature penthouse facades are key to the undulating design which becomes the signature for the “Wave” Apartments building. In particular the projecting curved façade at each end of the penthouse roof level is a major element of the architectural design and a feature that can be seen from afar. The sweep of the concrete rood appears to float above the skin of curved glass creating a dramatic visual effect.

Our colour finishes work perfectly with the building and surrounds. The Lennox has gone on to win ‘Best International Project’ at the PCBC Gold Nugget Awards in San Francisco.

It was even necessary to design bulkhead framing with a staggered stud configuration to meet acoustic requirements. Similarly, many of these designs also had to incorporate Square Hollow Section (SHS) posts to meet structural requirements. Rondo Technical Representative Max Dessmann worked closely with the contractor Interior Works and Rondo’s Technical Services Team to develop the required design solutions.

Rondo has supplied an external soffit ceiling frame for the Dubai Metro Station project. The Green Line of the Dubai Metro is the second Dubai Metro light rail line in Dubai. The route starts in Al Ghusais, and runs along Al Nahda Rd and Salahuddin Rd above ground. The Green line runs through Deira and Bur Dubai and generally runs parallel to Dubai Creek.

Rondo together with the builder, architect and primary contractor Cubic assisted in creating the contemporary high-rise educational facility. Rondo were engaged to provide external and internal wall and ceiling designs. Rondo’s technical team successfully worked with the teams onsite to overcome a range of complex wall types and design issues. The project required both Seismic design for the ceilings and special wind designs for the external framing.

Alspec’s® Hawkesbury Commercial Multi-Fold Doors along with ecoWALL225® Flush Glazed Framing accentuates the key features of the open-air main pavilion which houses reception, plus the bar and dining areas, where subtle creativity pervades in bespoke sculpture and light installations. The featuring colours are those of natural elements and the bright staff are pure Byron in their cheery welcome and smart casual uniforms.

Rondo provided a solid support foundation, using resources from both international and Australian technical services departments. The South West Pier (Stage 1), was built by Rachana Arts and saw Rondo provide assistance for the Corian cladding to the columns by creating adjustable and concealed fixings that were purposely designed for the hollow section support framing, as well as providing Stud and Track to support the various cladding materials.

Located in the heart of iconic beachside suburb Bondi, the recently completed Amari Residences has maximised views, natural ventilation and safety by utilising a combination of Alspec’s KidScreen® window products, Air-Flo® frames and Breezway® Louvres. The development’s incorporation of these window solutions ensures best advantage can be taken of the location’s northerly aspects and ocean views for each of the 32 apartments across the building’s 9 levels.

Termi Home & Commercial (SA) were proud to be a part of the historic Norwood Oval Redevelopment project in Adelaide, South Australia. As one of the most iconic football grounds in Adelaide only a non chemical termite management solution would do. We designed and installed the Termimesh System keeping in mind both the historical significance and the new facilities.The suitability of the Termimesh system for this project is based on its flexibility, which was necessary due to complex external geometry of the new construction and integration with the existing buildings. This presented challenges in performing remedial work. For example the Sir Edwin Smith Grandstand is heritage listed meaning minimal work was allowed to the external façade. This is where the strength of our termite management system lies. It can be customised for each individual project. Our estimating and design team will work alongside the architect, marking up plans and explaining how the system is applied to the design. Which in the case of the Norwood Oval was extremely important. Add to this problem damaged aging torch membrane, combined with Governments regulations regarding solar absorption and reflectivity of the building posed a real challenge for the applicator when determining a solution for the job.A second challenge for this job is the location of the building was located in the built up CBD of Parramatta with neighbours in close proximity, which meant the solution needed to be neighbourhood friendly.SolutionGiven the complexity of solution required for such a job AlphaGuard BIO is the only product which ticks all the boxes. AlphaGuard BIO is an extremely high performing composite waterproofing system, designed with a focus on roofing restoration. Due to AlphaGuard BIO being a liquid, it makes it ideal for jobs where there are machinery on the roof which needs to be worked around.AlphaGuard BIO has the ability to be installed over various existing roofing membranes in order to minimise tenant disruption and extend the life of the roof for an additional 20 years.It cures to form a durable rubber membrane surface that provides a lasting and easy-to clean waterproof coating. AlphaGuard BIO may be used to apply a seamless, monolithic waterproof membrane to concrete, primed metal, or existing roofing membrane surfaces.AlphaGuard BIO’s low VOC will minimise offensive odours to current tenants and applicators. The white top coat provides high solar reflectance, reducing the building’s operation costs and complying with Section J1.3(b) of the 2019 NCC.
