The Canberra Hospital features the following RBA products:RBA8851-137 in their recently completed Bariatric Ward rooms.Canberra Hospital is the major public medical establishment based in Australia’s Capital Territory, with 672 beds to cater for the territory’s population of 550,000. The Hospital provides services including acute inpatient and day services, outpatient services, women’s and children’s services, paediatrics and pathology. Canberra Hospital is also a hub for education and research, remaining as the main teaching hospital for the Australian National University Medical School and the University of Canberra’s Nursing School. Canberra Hospital additionally accommodates for Clinical Pastoral Care institutions based in Sydney. RBA was thrilled to participate on a project that could better the experiences of both a myriad of patients and students.Canberra Hospital reached out to RBA to provide for a number of brand new Bariatric Rooms and one “Super Bariatric Room” during a refurbishment of the hospital’s orthopaedics services. These amenities are essential to providing comfortable care for individuals struggling with the growing obesity crisis, the Super Bariatric Room catering to people weighing up to half a tonne. As a result, RBA had to supply high quality, heavy duty bariatric facilities, whilst keeping a homely character to make patients comfortable in the clinical environment. Made of Stainless Steel, the toilet can withstand loads of up to 910 kg with no measurable deflection and 2200 kg with no permanent damage, maintaining strong and secure for its intended usage. Furthermore, the 304-type, or “Food Grade” Stainless Steel is constructed with corrosion resistance and allows for optimal hygiene. The unit supplied to Canberra Hospital has an optional P or S Trap, coming in an Enviro-Glaze® White Finish, best suited for the setting. However, this unit is also offered Enviro-Glaze® White external finish and a Stainless Steel internal finish, or a Stainless Steel total finish. Moreover, the unit is water-saving, holding a 3 Star (6.0L FF/3.0L HF/3.6L AF) WELS rating. The unit can additionally be accompanied by RBA’s Big John Bariatric Toilet Seat, or the RBA8186-853.

Designed to hold 5000 people when Parliament meets, the 32 hectare site is where Australia’s biggest decisions are made by agents of our citizens. RBA has consistently provided for Capital Hill during the 21st Century in a bid to provide world-class products for Australia’s representatives.Located in the heart of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory, the Australian Parliament House was designed to better accommodate a larger number of people, meaning a greater amount of facilities for its growing occupancy. The building is designed to be spacious and not intimidating to the public, encouraging citizens to visit. Catering for Capital Hill’s requirements of security, high traffic and minimal maintenance, RBA has supplied a number of Bobrick Accessories specific to this project, suitable for both the highest of political representatives and the average citizen.RBA’s Bobrick Contura™ Surface Mounted Soap Dispenser, or the B4112, is made of strong Stainless Steel and holds a capacity of 1.2L. The unit is Antibacterial Soap resistant, allowing for its users to maintain optimal hygiene without wear and tear. Needing nominal maintenance, the B4112 is ideal for high traffic locations. Exhibiting a Satin Finish, the unit is a subtle addition to the facilities whilst simultaneously complimenting the silver notes in the Washroom design.Also pictured below is RBA’s Bobrick Trimline™ Recessed 2-in-1 Combination Unit, containing both a Paper Towel Dispenser and Waste Receptacle B38034. Recessed in nature, the unit invades minimal space while holding a large capacity of 600 C-fold of 800 multifold paper towels and a waste capacity of 14.4L, sporting two Tumbler Locks for security. It too has a Satin Finish to its Stainless Steel exterior, matching the B4112, maintaining a consistent aesthetic as well as blending in with the amenities. 

The 52mm drainage cell has been used as normally in two guises. Firstly as a TurfcellTM grass reinforcement such as at Natural Designer Homes , a display home in Casuarina NSW. The photograph of the driveway is from about 1year ago, some 4 years from installation. As there are several cars in the family as well as work trucks the installation looks quite good.Secondly as a Gravel cellTM gravel retainer, such as that used at Leaf and Limb Nursery in Kin Kin Qld., where they use the 52mm cell in the walkways as this makes it easier for them to run the trolley through the gravel.However there is a third use for the 52mm drainage cell. That is as walk ways in mining camps. Traymark Industrial Caravans make the vans for accommodation for the workers and Atlantis® 52mm cells are supplied with each van to be used as a walk way to keep workers out of the mud and dirt when at their accommodation..Secondly as a Gravel cellTM gravel retainer, such as that used at Leaf and Limb Nursery in Kin Kin Qld., where they use the 52mm cell in the walkways as this makes it easier for them to run the trolley through the gravel.Now for another use: a client already was successfully using our 52mm drainage cell as reinforcement for parking bays beside a river and in August 2011, it occurred to him that he could extend the parking area into a boat ramp. Our 52mm drainage cell is made from recycled polypropylene with U. V. protection, in sheets being 480mm x 260mm x 52mm.Two tracks, being 0.96m in width were connected to the 52mm drainage cell in the parking area and also were secured by metal hook pegs to the drainage cell of the parking area. The tracks lead to a full width ramp (2.88m in width) into the water.To prevent the ramp from sinking fully into the silt, the ramp and adjacent section of the two tracks are formed by two layers of 52mm drainage cell connected to each other by cable ties. Metal hook pegs were also used to assist in holding the ramp in position.We contacted our client in August 2017 and he is very happy with the boat ramp which is still in use despite several floods, and constant exposure to the elements.Thus the high load bearing of approximately 4000t/sq. M and the long useful life of the 52mm drainage cell has permitted the 52mm drainage cell to be used and still being used in many ways.

The Berkeley Hotel is a luxurious and iconic hotel, housed in the fashionable district of Knightsbridge, London. When renovations were required, Roger Stirk Harbour & Partners designed a glass façade entrance to the hotel. Boon Edam Ltd was consulted to provide a stylish entry solution to complement the updated lobby entrance and reflect the luxurious image of the Berkeley Hotel brand. Business Challenges The hotel entrance required a renovation which would give guests an instant welcome upon arrival, whilst also providing a practical function to meet access needs. For a hotel as prestigious as The Berkeley, first impressions are hugely important. The entrance and welcome given by a hotel provides the guest with an indication of what to expect from their stay, so therefore the entry solution was a key consideration within the renovation project. With a constant flow of visitors in and out of the lobby, the entrance door is vital in maintaining a comfortable climate and pleasant atmosphere for guests. As sliding or swinging doors bring in cold draughts, the specification called for a revolving door to keep out wind, noise and dust. The project architect specified that the door was to be fully automatic and made entirely of glass to match the newly renovated lobby. However, for a door to be fully automatic, there must be several sensors and buffers which would have impacted the all-glass aesthetic of the entrance. Boon Edam was appointed to provide a tailored solution which could meet all the specific functional requirements, without needing to compromise on the luxurious style and quality desired. The Boon Edam Solution A Custom Designed Crystal Tourniket Due to the high-end nature of The Berkeley Hotel, attention to detail was paramount. Multiple meetings were held with the architect to ensure that Boon Edam’s team of experts could fully capture all requirements to provide the perfect, bespoke solution. Boon Edam’s Crystal Tourniket door was selected for the entrance of The Berkley Hotel; one of the most impressive and eye-catching revolving doors available. A Crystal Tourniket is constructed almost entirely from glass, with added stainless steel accents to support the solidity of the door. The End Result The Berkeley Hotel is now home to a grand lobby entrance provided by Boon Edam, which utilises natural wood in the drum wall of the Crystal Tourniket revolving door to provide guests with a warm and elegant welcome. In combination with the all-glass door set and modern lighting, the bespoke solution truly reflects the prestigious Berkley Hotel brand.

This also entails considering the climate impacts of this project. EcoPact - Zero ConcreteWe will need tons of concrete and other materials for the structure of our new Universal Store home. But the good news is that some pioneers are investing in research and development to deliver carbon neutral concrete.We are working closely with our construction partners - developer TradeCoast Central, and builder McNab to deliver a sustainable building. The Universal Store new purpose-built facility will make use of carbon neutral concrete supplied locally by Holcim. Their EcoPact concrete can be made carbon neutral by compensating for residual carbon emissions. In fact this product is so much better for the planet, it has just won the Best of the Best 2021 Sustainability Awards from Architecture and Design.We chose this product to achieve the following benefits:·Conserve natural resources - the product uses alternative materials (fly ash, blast furnace slag or silica fume) instead of virgin raw materials (mainly limestone and silica). ·Reduce the carbon footprint of the project - this product achieves a reduction of 30-100% of embodied emissions related to concrete usage in comparison to standard concrete. ·Use our influence and leadership to support the transition to a low carbon economy·Demonstrate that a sustainable future is within reach.

Termi Home & Commercial (SA) were proud to be a part of the historic Norwood Oval Redevelopment project in Adelaide, South Australia. As one of the most iconic football grounds in Adelaide only a non chemical termite management solution would do. We designed and installed the Termimesh System keeping in mind both the historical significance and the new facilities.The suitability of the Termimesh system for this project is based on its flexibility, which was necessary due to complex external geometry of the new construction and integration with the existing buildings. This presented challenges in performing remedial work. For example the Sir Edwin Smith Grandstand is heritage listed meaning minimal work was allowed to the external façade. This is where the strength of our termite management system lies. It can be customised for each individual project. Our estimating and design team will work alongside the architect, marking up plans and explaining how the system is applied to the design. Which in the case of the Norwood Oval was extremely important.
