At the new 6,000-seater Jordal Amfi ice hockey stadium in Oslo, Norway, player and spectator safety is a top priority. The stadium owner wanted a coating system which included passive fire protection, so, when Danish-based Give Steel was contracted to produce the steel structures, they had to not only meet the customer specification for fire protection but also consider the logistics of the project.The steel pieces were produced in Denmark, and Give Steel needed a coating system that was robust enough to protect the steel during transportation and erection onsite.

54 Mary Street is an office building nestled in the heart of Brisbane. Spanning over 22 levels, it was no small feat for bureau^proberts to carry out a retrofit of the public washrooms. As part of the refurbishment of male, female, and ADA Accessible washrooms across numerous floors, bureau^proberts had to source a large selection of soap dispensers that would be readily available in large quantities – and ideally, in a particular matte black finish. ASI JD Macdonald were perfectly positioned to provide the solution.

The brand new state-of-the-art $177 million Brisbane International Cruise Terminal was completed in mid-2020 and will serve as a gateway for the Queensland tourismsector. The 9,300m² terminal was designed by Arkhefield in collaboration with Arup will provide visitors with a world class experience.The public spaces including the internal walkways, communal areas and departure lounge featured 1,500m² of Flowcoat Terrosso in four bespoke colour combinations.The decorative resin-based flooring system was chosen to provide a decorative, seamless flooring system that would not only create a luxurious and welcome environment, but withstand the expected foot traffic.A further 1,200m² of Deckshield ID was applied to the foot bridge, providing passengers with a slip resistant and safe surface as they board or disembark some of the biggest cruise ships in the world.Tremco CPG Australia’s portfolio of industry leading products provided not just a flooring solution for the world-glass tourism facility. In addition to the Flowcreteflooring systems, Tremco CPG Australia also provided the structural glazing silicone Proglaze II to a total of 218 glass panels.

With a glass façade symbolising the transparency of justice and a glossy metal exoskeleton, the new Maison de l’Ordre des Avocats (House of the Paris Bar Association) is a stunning addition to the French capital’s new Batignolles judicial city. For the building owner, safety is a top priority. Therefore, the exoskeleton needed a proven passive fire protection coating that would enable the steel to maintain its load-bearing capacity for up to 60 minutes during a fire, giving those inside valuable extra time to evacuate.The challenge Specialist paint application and surface treatment company ROTH & Cie was contracted to apply the passive fire protection coating system. ROTH & Cie has worked with Hempel for many years and was keen to work with us on this project. However, due to the project schedule, the tubular exoskeleton framework was delivered to the construction site with a competitor’s epoxy primer already applied. ROTH & Cie therefore wanted a Hempel passive fire protection system that would work with the existing primer. Also, as building aesthetics are important in the overall design, the exoskeleton needed a high-quality matt satin finish. The solution Our solution was to specify a system of Hempafire Pro 315 and Hempathane 55750. A single component intumescent coating, Hempafire Pro 315 complies with the EN 13501-2 standard for the fire classification of construction products. It is optimised to provide 60 minutes of passive fire protection, as well as partial protection up to 90 minutes. In addition, thanks to its exceptionally low loadings, Hempafire Pro 315 requires significantly lower dry film thicknesses than competitor products. As a result, ROTH & Cie could apply the coating in a thinner coat, significantly reducing paint consumption, application time and project costs. The full system was completed with Hempathane 55750, a polyurethane topcoat with quick crosslinking properties that provides the matt satin appearance required by the specifications. Our dedicated passive fire protection R&D Centre in Barcelona, Spain verified that Hempafire Pro 315 could be applied on top of the existing primer. The entire system was spray applied using an electric airless pump, which is ideal for construction sites as it does not require an air compressor. This project is a great example where the client wanted to realise the instant savings of Con-form Group’s engineer certified, rafter mounted system, over costly traditional mounting systems.With a mixture of our EasyMech MR (purlin-mounted), and Span+ (rafter-mounted), HVAC platforms - the client was able to successfully mount all mechanical units across the roof of this mixed-use development in Tasmania.Spanning over 9 metres, this retrofitted Span+ (rafter-mounted), installation answered the clients brief in more ways than one.Rated to 2.5kPa and attached to Con-form Groups proprietary steel stub columns – this platform and it’s screens were retrofitted to the roof of this shopping centre within 2 days.Paired with our Louvre airflow and Classic Screen Walls.

Snapper Creek Car Park was developed as an environmentally friendly permeable car park. As such the Atlantis® Turf CellTM and Atlantis® Gravel CellTM systems were chosen, to provide gravel driveways and grass parking areas, thus preventing compaction of the soil and to protect the grass and to stabilize the gravel and provide a permeable car park.The parking areas were divided into car only parking and car & trailer parking.The area, consisting of natural sandy material, was excavated to a depth of 300mm, and a tensar grid was placed into the excavation and the excavated material placed back on top of the tensar grid and compacted.A layer of 100mm of gravel was then place on the areas where the Atlantis® Gravel CellTM modules were to be used and the Atlantis® Gravel cellTM modules positioned thereon and filled with gravel.The Atlantis® Turf CellTM modules were installed and filled with soil and then the area was grass seeded; no turf was used. The project was completed in mid 2014 and was at that stage semi grassed and in use.The project required 4,300sq. m of Atlantis® 52mm drainage cell, which are 480mm x 260mm x 52mm panels and have a rigid interlocking clipping system and are made from recycled polypropylene.In August 2017, the operators of the car park, which is still operating, were contacted and they stated that they were extremely happy with the condition of the car park, even though it has heavy traffic as there is a boat ramp there, and some areas have been flooded by Snapper Creek.The Atlantis® Turf CellTM & Atlantis® Gravel CellTM systems are specifically suited for car parks, access roads, aircraft taxiways and helicopter landing pads as it has the following features:a high load bearing of approximately 4000t/sq. M;protects the root system from compaction, while allow for vigorous horizontal and vertical root growth;permits surface water absorption and infiltration; andhave a long use life.

Now, and after years of meticulous renovation and restoration, the Miesian Plaza is set to welcome its new tenants, including the likes of Ireland’s Department of Health. Aiming to achieve the highest LEED platinum accreditation, architects Scott Tallon Walker have said their goal is: “To provide Grade A accommodation of the highest modern standard to equal or surpass the finest developments in the market.” Combining sustainable high-grade services all encased in a bronze-tinted double-glazed window motif, the building achieves the architect’s bold aim to create a building like no other. SAS International designed and manufactured products for three of the Miesian Plaza’s blocks. As the building module size is imperial, SAS was able to provide bespoke C profile width to maintain the buildings original 64 1/2” planning module.

Improved water conservation was achieved by installing the latest in efficient flush systems and reduced flow tapware in all the bathrooms and kitchens.

Nestled in the formerly industrial suburb of Sydney’s Alexandria sits the newly completed Arkadia Apartments, designed in a collaboration between DKO Architecture and Breathe Architecture. Lining the spectacular curved forms of two entrance tunnels are our Click-on Battens in Spotted Gum, using a modified version of our system to meet the requirements of the unique geometry.

The Perth Optus Stadium is a world-class sporting venue located within WA, Stryum, Australian-made, non-combustible façade system, was chosen to provide a unique and customised finish to the 60,000 seat Perth Stadium development. Termi Home & Commercial (SA) were proud to be a part of the historic Norwood Oval Redevelopment project in Adelaide, South Australia. As one of the most iconic football grounds in Adelaide only a non chemical termite management solution would do. We designed and installed the Termimesh System keeping in mind both the historical significance and the new facilities.The suitability of the Termimesh system for this project is based on its flexibility, which was necessary due to complex external geometry of the new construction and integration with the existing buildings. This presented challenges in performing remedial work. For example the Sir Edwin Smith Grandstand is heritage listed meaning minimal work was allowed to the external façade. This is where the strength of our termite management system lies. It can be customised for each individual project. Our estimating and design team will work alongside the architect, marking up plans and explaining how the system is applied to the design. Which in the case of the Norwood Oval was extremely important. Swinburne University of Technology located in Hawthorn, Victoria required a new flooring solution for its Department of Architectural and Industrial Design workshop space. To find a solution that was both durable and decorative, Flowcrete Australia was consulted.600 m2 of Flowfresh SR in a custom Ultramarine Blue was installed at the Swinburne University Hawthorn campus thanks to its robust nature and ability to be specified in a bespoke colour.The workshop, locker area and classrooms provide students with a creative space to formulate, plan and create their visions, and the custom colour was chosen to help inspire and keep the creative juices flowing!As well as being extremely hard-wearing, the polyurethane system Flowfresh SR is also chemical resistant, meaning that it could withstand spills of drinks, paints or other substances that could harm lesser floors.Although Flowfresh SR has a positively textured surface with non-slip aggregates, the flooring system is also very easy to clean, meaning that spills or dirt could easily be wiped away, maintaining a safe space for staff and students.Prior to the application of Flowfresh SR, substantial remediation works were required including the removal of timber parquetry and the filling of over 100 lineal metres of 50mm deep service trenches.

Steve Domoney Architecture took on the challenge of designing a home for clients with children. This project came with a clear vision of a spacious family home, contemporary in line and warm in tone. The dining room has Capral AGS windows opening at exterior ground level to a fernery, while high-level Capral AGS 419 Flushline Framing System beyond the kitchen provides views to distant trees in the south-east. The formal lounge opens to a generous decking and garden behind.
