This hurdle was overcome with the assistance of Rondo’s Technical Team who created unique designs of the external façade framing which pleased Contractor Conrad Linings and Builder, Broad Construction Services. Furthermore, Rondo worked in consultation with Hyder Engineers for a solution of the 150mm MAXIframe External Walls and Framing that required galvanised sheet metal to be installed on top of the framework to prevent any potential water ingress, with Rondo supervising the correct installation.

Coined as the newest urban development in North Perth, this boutique 5-storey apartment, Rose on Angove designed by Architects Bollig Design is a little gem.Situated on the corner of Angove and Fitzgerald Streets in the prominent and renowned coffee and café strip of Angove Street, the $15 million development consists of 39 one and two-bedroom apartments.

Rondo has provided onsite design assistance for the $66m project, supporting the design and construct environment. The project required the application of seismic solutions and Rondo has worked closely with contractor, Laser Linings to deliver the desired result.

This project proved to be quite a challenge for LCJ Engineers and Rondo to design, due to the very high wind loads together with wall heights up to 4.2m, which resulted in having back to back 150mm studs at 300mm centres. This project was nicknamed “Steel City” and from viewing the images, you can see why.

Designed by leading architects Hassell and Populous, the project is predicted to generate $200 million annual economic benefit for the NSW economy. Partnering with four of its major contractor customers Rondo provided design solutions based on criteria supplied by the architects and project builder Lend Lease for all four buildings.

Rondo partnered with contractors ‘Sydney Projects’ once again, along with architects ‘The Buchan Group – Sydney’ to develop and execute the proposal for this project which involved the re-development of the retail arcade through the ground floor level, along with the eastern portion of the casino to contain additional commercial/tourist facilities, external works to the existing tower building and landscaping and public domain works

Rondo’s unrivalled ability to provide Seismic designs and our strong working relationship with Sydney Projects made choosing our products a no-brainer. Importantly, this was the first major hotel project where seismic requirements needed to be addressed, and therefore Rondo supplied designs for internal wall partitions, ceilings, seismic walls and seismic bulkheads.

Adelaide Entertainment Centre was opened by the Government of South Australia in 1991 as a result of strong community demand for a suitable venue to host touring artists and entertainment. The Adelaide Entertainment Centre houses a multi-purpose arena facility with a capacity to entertain almost 12,000 people.

Timber features were used throughout the project, with Decortech acoustic panels used to clad both internal and external ceilings. Rondo, in collaboration with BVT Engineering was engaged to provide design assistance for all external soffits/ceilings, internal walls and ceiling framing.

Located marina-side in one of Auckland’s most exciting new precincts. It also straddles Aucklands CBD making it Aucklands premier destination. Rondo provided the full interior package, including walls and ceilings for the residential gym, business centre and boutique theatre.

Built by Mossop Construction & Interiors, the $50m hall is located on campus at Hindley Street in Adelaide’s CBD. The Great Hall, dubbed as a ‘one-stop shop’, will not only benefit University students and staff, but also the local community as it features a sports complex and swimming pool. Rondo were approached to provide designs for full seismic requirements and worked with Ceiling & Wall Contractors Adelaide.

Rondo has worked alongside MG Plasterers – who is a key customer in SA – since the initial planning stages. Rondo supplied this project with Steel Stud and KEY-LOCK Concealed Suspended Ceilings.

Fogarty Bros, who are the main commercial plasters in Bundaberg for over 15 years, were contracted to install the internal and external linings. Due to the region’s conditions, external wall designs for cyclonic conditions were needed, pre-construction meetings were needed to discuss benefits and limitations. The builder used extra structural steel where needed and custom suit windows to fit the Rondo design.

Rondo have supplied the suspended ceiling support frame for a metal panel ceiling which will be used in the construction of the Doha International Airport project.

Rondo’s Technical Team supplied emblematic CAD floor plans and designs for wall types including acoustic and fire rating to board to the manufacturer’s specifications. Onsite support from Rondo included assistance in setting out, framing, lining and finishing training as well material supply coordination.

Construction has concluded on the redevelopment of the ‘old Harris Scarfe’ site at Rundle Mall in Adelaide. The renovations seek to re-energise the area but remain committed to preserve Adelaide’s most cherished department store. Four floors of retail space have had the base built by Interior Projects who have been a valued Rondo customer since 1988. Rondo provided essential technical expertise and design solutions for the fire walls and security mesh between tenancies.

IOI City Mall is the biggest shopping mall in Malaysia at 1.35 million square feet, incorporating Rondo Drywall Framing for the internal wall partitions. This mall comes together with 2 tower office blocks and one hotel which will be completed in stages.

Rondo together with the builder, architect and primary contractor Cubic assisted in creating the contemporary high-rise educational facility. Rondo were engaged to provide external and internal wall and ceiling designs. Rondo’s technical team successfully worked with the teams onsite to overcome a range of complex wall types and design issues. The project required both Seismic design for the ceilings and special wind designs for the external framing.

It was even necessary to design bulkhead framing with a staggered stud configuration to meet acoustic requirements. Similarly, many of these designs also had to incorporate Square Hollow Section (SHS) posts to meet structural requirements. Rondo Technical Representative Max Dessmann worked closely with the contractor Interior Works and Rondo’s Technical Services Team to develop the required design solutions.

With a continuously growing workforce, cities across the country are transforming corporate workspaces into multi-level high-quality spaces. The demand for better-graded office space in the city of Glasgow is high. The magnificent development of 191 West George Street has created a vibrant buzz around the cultural city. Known as being within one of the most prominent positions within the City, 191 West George Street stands on the corner of West George Street and Wellington Street. The position encourages an easy commute for the workforce with transport links being a stone’s throw away from the development. Renovated with space and clarity in mind, the atrium stands out with its high-quality materials. The atrium was designed with a sleek set of Lifeline Speedlane Swings.

With a glass façade symbolising the transparency of justice and a glossy metal exoskeleton, the new Maison de l’Ordre des Avocats (House of the Paris Bar Association) is a stunning addition to the French capital’s new Batignolles judicial city. For the building owner, safety is a top priority. Therefore, the exoskeleton needed a proven passive fire protection coating that would enable the steel to maintain its load-bearing capacity for up to 60 minutes during a fire, giving those inside valuable extra time to evacuate.The challenge Specialist paint application and surface treatment company ROTH & Cie was contracted to apply the passive fire protection coating system. ROTH & Cie has worked with Hempel for many years and was keen to work with us on this project. However, due to the project schedule, the tubular exoskeleton framework was delivered to the construction site with a competitor’s epoxy primer already applied. ROTH & Cie therefore wanted a Hempel passive fire protection system that would work with the existing primer. Also, as building aesthetics are important in the overall design, the exoskeleton needed a high-quality matt satin finish. The solution Our solution was to specify a system of Hempafire Pro 315 and Hempathane 55750. A single component intumescent coating, Hempafire Pro 315 complies with the EN 13501-2 standard for the fire classification of construction products. It is optimised to provide 60 minutes of passive fire protection, as well as partial protection up to 90 minutes. In addition, thanks to its exceptionally low loadings, Hempafire Pro 315 requires significantly lower dry film thicknesses than competitor products. As a result, ROTH & Cie could apply the coating in a thinner coat, significantly reducing paint consumption, application time and project costs. The full system was completed with Hempathane 55750, a polyurethane topcoat with quick crosslinking properties that provides the matt satin appearance required by the specifications. Our dedicated passive fire protection R&D Centre in Barcelona, Spain verified that Hempafire Pro 315 could be applied on top of the existing primer. The entire system was spray applied using an electric airless pump, which is ideal for construction sites as it does not require an air compressor. ABN Group chose a site in Leederville, WA, for a new state-of-the-art headquarters building. This included a multi-level office, ground floor commercial tenancies, end-of trip facilities, and parking for approximately 160 cars.The project demanded high standards for quality, had a construction time frame of 87 weeks, and was to be five-star Green Star rated.These considerations had an impact on the selection of finish for the car park floors, which is where MARKHAM became involved in the project.AQURON 1000 was selected for enhanced concrete curing, permanent sealing, and deep anti-dust hardening.

Rondo worked closely with Bravo Ceiling Industries on this project to provide engineering designs for high pressure areas within the building. A thorough assessment was completed to ascertain which Rondo products would achieve the best outcome.

Rondo’s products were specifically requested in the design process for Australia’s most environmentally sustainable data centre in Malaga, Western Australia. Perth’s first and only carrier-neutral colocation Data Centre is designed and built with the latest data centre technologies to promote continuity for energy-efficient technology and security. P1’s construction timeline estimated 15 months to completion, allocating time for design reviews and adjustments.The initial door framing sections specified in the design plans were reviewed for the project’s construction.

Teaming up with contractor Metrex Wall and Ceiling Specialists, Rondo was given the challenge of providing specification details for external wall framing, low height double leaf balustrade framing and external bulkhead stud wall framing, as well as providing a fully engineered design solution for the external façade.

Melbourne’s CBD features a $230 million Victoria Police ‘super’ complex. Designed by Woods Bagot Architects, the 12 level, 27,000m2 project provided Rondo Victoria’s Charlie Khoury with the opportunity to work with their project team in the early design process to come up with solutions to meet their architectural requirements. Together with Rondo’s technical services engineers many solutions were found such as how to satisfy a requirement for the many free-standing walls to be constructed without using structural steel.

Design requirements had to be completed prior to commencement of trades, with an extensive design folder put together by Rondo’s Technical Services Team. The design of all wall types for the entire project were carried out by Grocon’s engineering department, assisted by Rondo’s own Engineers.

Rondo assisted contractor, Interline, under Builder FKG Group. A large part of the support meant assisting with technical designs that were sympathetic to the cyclonic region that is Cairns.

The Project team consisted of builder, Doric, who awarded the ceiling and wall package to Ceiling & Wall Contracting (CWC) and KB Carpentry. Rondo Partner Network Distributer, Superb Group, provided supply of various Rondo products. Rondo was engaged by Peter Hunt Architects early in the documentation stages of the project, allowing an ease of understanding between all parties.

Using Stud & Track and KEY-LOCK, Rondo was responsible for providing design support to Contractor, Amicus Constructions as well as onsite advice. While Rondo provided internal and external product, it was the external use of Stud & Track that stole the show.

Design and construction of this 18 month, $670m project was given to North Australian Contracting (NAC) and was no easy feat. NAC and Rondo worked together to deliver against difficult time restraints through organising multiple shifts on site and working 24 days straight at one stage.

Rondo and Allcoast worked together to achieve the curved corners in the feature ceiling. Although a great success, it was initially a tricky scenario to tackle due to the difficult shape that a tiered, KEY-LOCK Ceiling offers, including tight bends and corners. To form the curve in the ceiling, the contractor had to utilise plywood and cut to the same shape of the corner. Not only did this provide the desired effect, it added additional strength to the Rondo framework.
